After 21 editions, the ATP Open Castilla y Leon Tournament has converted in one of the best challengers of the World, beating more than 150 tournaments in this category that yearly play in 50 countries of the 5 continents.

The evolution of the ATP Open Castilla y Leon started as a meeting point for amateur players and now is one of the most important appointments of Spain where some of the most important players of the world play, thanks to the incorporation to the ATP. This effort, supported by journalists, sponsors, tennis lovers and specially by the Institutions from Segovia and Castilla y Leon, has got the official denomination of Campeonatos Internacionales de España en Pista Rapida.

Through the last years, some Institutions have recognized the course and the progress of the ATP Open Castilla y Leon by means of some awards such us:
1991 SPECIAL MENTION TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.
The Segovian Sports Gala awarded Pedro Muñoz a special mention for all his tennis dedication as well as promotion.
1994 SEGOVIAN REWARD.
Pedro Muñoz, Tournament Director of the ATP Open Castilla y Leon, was awarded in the sports section.
1996 THE BEST SPORTS MANAGER AWARD OF SEGOVIA
Pedro Muñoz, Tournament Director of the ATP Open Castilla y Leon, was awarded in the sports section.
1996 THE BEST SPORTS MANAGER AWARD OF CASTILLA Y LEON
A jury, integrated by members of the Junta de Castilla y Leon and Mass Media of the region awarded Pedro Muñoz as the best sports manager of Castilla y Leon.
1996 AWARD OF THE SEGOVIA TELEVISION.
The television of Segovia awarded the ATP Open Castilla y Leon for its tennis promotion.
1996 JUAN BRAVO AWARDS
The Segovian Center placed in Madrid awarded the members of the ATP Open Castilla y Leon for their hard work as well as their courage.
1997 THE BEST TOURNAMENT AWARD.
The ATP awarded the ATP Open Castilla y Leon as the best tennis tournament played in Spain.
2000 THE BEST TENNIS TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.
The Professional Tennis Registry Office awarded Pedro Muñoz as the best tennis tournament director in 2000.


2001 SEGOVIANO BIEN VISTO AWARD
Jesus Martinez was awarded as Segoviano bien visto for his labour in the ATP Open Castilla y Leon.

2001 SPECIAL MENTION FOR THE HUMAN VALUES
Segovia television awarded Pedro Muñoz for his course at the head of the Tournament. .
2004 THE BEST REGIONAL PHOTOGRAF AWARD.
Pedro Luis Merino, Official Photographer of the tournament was awarded as the best sport picture last year for his snapshot picture that he made in the Tournament and was published in the official tournament newspaper “EL Adelantado de Segovia”.
2004 GOLD HONOUR MEDAL FROM BLOOD DONOR.
The Internacionales de España en Pista Rapida Villa de El Espinar ATP Open Castilla y Leon was awarded by the Blood Donors with the Gold Honour Medal.
